My Lotus Diary February 2003

1st February 2003

I'm about half way through my latest project. It is Lotus Elise inspired, kind of. It's got four alloy wheels, an aluminium chassis, 9 gears and all-round disc brakes. It's a single seater, weighs in at about 24kg and would have a much improved power to weight ratio, if I could lose a bit more weight. Oh, and it's cost quite a bit too. My quadricycle should be up and running by the end of March with a protoype chassis and the first version has to be completed by June. More details on my personal web siteRemote site.

This is one of the most beautiful cars I've seen for ages and the simplicity of the design is what I'd always hoped for the next generation Elise. The Farboud GTSRemote site is a little more expensive than the Elise though. If I had to criticise the styling at all, it would be for the unusual air intake design.

The OLC Lotus Life bulletin board loses Nick Adams this week. An invaluable source of information gone. Lets hope he comes back when the S3 arrives as a deluge of requests is going to be inevitable.
