New 'facelifted' Elise - front

18th Feb 2010

Lotus has released some information and pictures of its upcoming 2011 Elise ahead of its Geneva appearance. The latest Elise is a slight alteration from the current model and will come in three different specs: standard, R and SC. The base Elise will now feature a 1.6-litre 'Valvematic' engine resulting in lower emmissions. The latter two will be 1.8-litres, with the 'SC' meaning super-charged.

The most obvious change is the integration of the LED daytime lights into the main headlights. An altered front and wider rear bumper also help to update the look. Other changes include the addition of cruise control and new cast wheels in silver or black. Extra fog lights are absent in initial photos. Lighting has stayed the same at back, but the rear vents on the side of the outer taillights have been eliminated. A larger rear bumper now extends almost all the way to the diffuser.
