Lotus Elise S2 Sport 190

Announcement

The Sport 190 was first announced in January 2002 and further information appear at the Geneva Motorshow in March 2002.

Specification

Each S2 Sport 190 car is tailor made by Lotus Motorsport and although not strictly road legal, by deleting certain standard items the car can be made road legal. The basic specification is as per the standard Elise S2 plus:

Uprated engine

1.8 litre DOHC 16v 4 cylinder inline.
192PS (190bhp) @ 7,800 rpm.
174NM (128 lb/ft) @ 5,000 rpm.
Race cooling system.
Engine oil cooler.

Suspension

Double wishbone with coil springs over gas pressured racing dampers.
Adjustable ride heights.
Adjustable front anti-roll bar.

Wheels & Tyres

Front 6.5" x 16" wheels.
Rear 7.5" x 17" wheels.
Yokohama A048 tyres.

Safety

Safety roll bar.
MSA approved race seat and 4 point race harnesses.
Plumbed in fire extinguisher system.
Battery master cut out switch.

Brakes

282mm diameter ventilated discs, Lotus/AP Racing 2 piston aluminium front callipers and racing pads.

Steering

Rigidly mounted rack and pinion 2.8 turns lock to lock.

Performance

Maximum speed 135mph (219km/h).
0-60mph 4.4 seconds (100km/h 4.5 seconds).
Power to weight ratio: 267bhp/tonne.
